Company history

Supporting local authorities has always been the foundation of Elan City.

Established in 2005 in the Nantes region, Elan City has expanded into the world leader in traffic management and urban communication solutions, and has a growing international client base.

2005
Creation of the company: Elan City launches its first radar in response to a growing demand for solutions to reduce excessive driving speeds.
2010
1,000 sites equipped.
2011
Collaboration with the Ministry of Transport to deploy educational radars in France on a large scale, in order to replace radar warning signs.
2012
Opening of the American subsidiary: Elan City. First international steps for the company.
2013
Launch of the Evocity Led Information Display Board and the CITEA passenger information terminal.
2016
Milestone of 10,000 sites equipped, the reputation for reliability and quality of Elan City solutions continues to grow as our company expands rapidly.
2017
Launch of the EVOFLASH Warning Beacon. It is the only one on the market to be equipped with a radar antenna.
2018
Opening of European subsidiaries in the UK, Spain, Italy and Germany.
2020
30,000 sites equipped. Elan City products are present in over 50 countries.
2021
Launch of the EVOTRAFFIC vehicle counter and SIGNAKID road sign child bollards.
2022
Launch of the Evolight smart traffic light, the reward traffic light for speed regulation.
