Since 2023, the United Nations has been leading a decisive fight against a “silent pandemic” : road accidents. Each year, these tragedies claim the lives of 1.2 milion people worldwide and seriously injure 50 milion others. The #MakeASafetyStatement campaign, part of the Decade of Action for Road Safety, aims to reduce road fatalities by 50% by 2030.
Deployed in nearly 80 countries, this initiative raises awareness of risky driving behaviours and encourages governments, organisations, and citizens to take action for safer mobility. Local campaigns, adapted to national contexts, have been launched in various countries, including the United States, Japan, Belgium, and France.
Around the world, influential personalities are taking a stand to promote safer driving habits and encourage behavioural change:
These messages are being shared on social media and urban billboards to reach a broad audience and promote responsible driving.
At Elan City, we actively support this global initiative with innovative solutions to enhance road safety. Our EVOLIS Vision speed indicator device, already in use by numerous local authorities worldwide, offers an educational and non-punitive approach. It displays real-time vehicle speeds, encouraging drivers to adopt more responsible behaviour.
As a road safety stakeholder, we are committed to providing local authorities with concrete tools to reduce speeding and improve road safety. Our solutions align with the vision of the #MakeASafetyStatement campaign and contribute to creating a safer driving environment.
