Elan City, a leader in the design of road safety solutions, recently conducted an original test of the EVOLIS Vision radar speed sign. This time, the device was tested on a karting track, specifically at Karting Solokart in Pléssé, known for being the longest track in Europe. The goal of this experiment: to verify the radar’s reactivity in detecting vehicles and to ensure its instant readability over a defined distance.
In an environment where speed reigns, the EVOLIS Vision speed radar demonstrated its ability to quickly detect vehicles. Positioned at the exit of a curve, 492.13 ft away, the device accurately captured the passage of a car traveling at speeds between 18.64 and 31.07 mph. This test allowed the revalidation of its reactivity, one of the key criteria to ensure road safety.
On a circuit where the changing configuration of curves and straight lines challenges a radar’s detection capabilities, EVOLIS Vision confirmed its effectiveness. The tested car, at predefined speeds, was instantly detected, showing that the speed radar can react with the same precision as in an urban environment.
Beyond reactivity, another strong point of the EVOLIS Vision speed radar is its instant readability. During the experiment at Solokart track, drivers were able to clearly and quickly view the speed displayed by the radar, even in dynamic conditions. This is crucial not only for road safety but also for raising driver awareness of speed in real time.
The EVOLIS Vision radar is not just a detection device. It plays an educational role by reminding drivers of their exact speed. This role can be extended to various environments, demonstrating the versatility of this device.
